History in the making...

I cannot believe that I have been lucky enough to see this.....

When I was a kid, I saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. I saw several moon launches and landings, as well as the splash-downs that followed. I still remember seeing body counts on the evening news with good old "Uncle" Walter Cronkite as reports from Vietnam came in. I remember MLK and RFK being shot. I remember when Elvis died. I remember when Nixon resigned. I remember when Jimmy Carter said he had "lust in his heart"and that he had seen a UFO (and I remember his brother Billy, too---still have a can of Billy Beer!) I remember the Iranian hostage crisis, and how it ended abruptly when Reagan took office. I remember when Squeaky Fromme took potshots at Ford, and when John Lennon was killed. I remember when some loser tried to impress Jody Foster by shooting Reagan. I remember the Colts midnight move to Indy (SORRY BALTIMORE!!!!) I saw Mondale speak when he ran for President with Geraldine Ferraro as his VP candidate. THAT was exciting for an independent, emancipated woman like me....

But, I never thought I would see what happened in Denver last night. Last night, I think I saw our country begin to grow up. It's about time. For a country that was founded, allegedly, on the idea of tolerance, we have been one of the most intolerant nations on earth....intolerant of race, religion, sex, height, weight, differences of opinion. Our ancestors, those who came here of their own free will, came here for a change....yet, so many people in this country are afraid of just that, change. "It's always been that way, so just leave it," "If it was good enough for my mom and dad, it's good enough for me, " and so on and so on. But, last night, with one loud, clear voice, projected out into a clear, cloudless beautiful Denver sky, a group of diverse people.....different colors, different sexes, different religions, all came together and asked for CHANGE.

That, in itself, was amazing enough. But the most amazing part is the man they asked to help them achieve it. After centuries of placing the most powerful office in our country into the hands of one type of man, a different type came forward. He was not like all the others before him in appearance, but in heart and soul, he was much more like those early leaders and founders of our country than most of the recent leaders of our nation have been. He cares more about US, the people, than himself or his friends. His name is Barack Obama.

A funny name, yes. His father, Kenyan. His mother, Kansan. Of course, you know all that by now. Oh, but many of you say, I have read/heard/been told he is a Muslim, because his father was/is!!!! No, he is not. He is a Christian, and attends a United Church of Christ. Well, he doesn't wear an American flag lapel pin, or participate in the Pledge of Allegiance. To the first part, he does, on occasion, wear the flag pin. Do YOU wear a flag pin every day? Does that mean YOU love your country any less? My father was a WW II veteran and never wore a flag pin a day in his life. Does that mean he was unpatriotic? No, it was a personal choice. An outward sign of patriotism does not always mean the heart is in the right place. As for the Pledge, if you are referring to a photo passed around and around on the internet, that photo was taken during the singing of the National Anthem, and none of the folks in that photo are looking at the flag behind them. Really hard to judge what they are looking at. But, what about him being sworn in on the Quran? That is completely false. A Minnesota Congressman named Keith Ellison, who is a Muslim, chose to carry a Quran instead of a Bible, since he would not actually be sworn in on a Bible anyway. And, the Quran he carried had been owned by Thomas Jefferson.

There are many other concerns out there about Obama....but on this night....this one night....the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's stirring "I Have A Dream Speech," Americans, some Americans, enough Americans, finally began to
" judge not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character." And how appropriate that Dr. King even said, "Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!"

For those who felt Obama did not give enough information early on in his campaign as to what he wanted to do and how, he spelled that out last night. Strangely enough, much of it is what he said to a small group, gathered in a room for lunch, back in April this year. I even felt he used some of our words last night, and was honored. He wants to work for you, for me, for all of us out here trying to merely make a living, raise our children, and be good people. He is NOT going to work for the oil companies, the polluters, the insurance companies turning us away without care. He IS one of us....he knows our lives, and he wants to help. As a man from Indiana who spoke last night at the Convention said, "we need a government who puts Barney Smith before Smith Barney."

Yes, I believe. Yes, I think together, we CAN! And it is going to take all of us, together. This will not be an easy fight. Today's news is a good indicator. John McCain, for whom I have the utmost respect for his service to our nation, but who I feel is far too much like GWB and too set in the ways of the conservative Republicans who have let our country go down the drain so far, has chosen a young, unknown woman governor as his running mate. Interesting choice. Trying to get the women's vote, obviously. Trying to reach out to young people, ok. But, this is pandering. Choosing someone just because of her sex and age is an insult, a slap in the face. No, I don't think he should have chosen Hillary, but to me this just shows his desperation and fear of Obama and the power of those who KNOW it is time for a drastic change in Washington.

It is time for change. Our country does need to grow up. How many other nations have had minority or female leaders since the mid-60's? Dozens. The Unites States is stuck in the Older White Male Syndrome, preferably the Older White Male with Lots of Money Syndrome. Why do we think this is the person who best understands us, or who will act in our best interest, or will act quickest when that is necessary? This is generally a person who has acted on their own behalf more often than not. Effective business leaders are generally younger, more energetic, more active. Why do we want our Presidents to be older, more sedentary, and more out-of-touch with regular Americans?

I am inspired. I am going to do what I can, talk to people, call, help in whatever way I need to, to let people know that John McCain, unfortunately, represents the same economic policies that have been bringing my poor little hometown to a standstill. I will be working for change. I will be doing what I can for Barack Obama, and history. I am glad I am lucky enough to see this, and that my children are, too.....I just wish my dad would have...

I simply want to offer my most sincere thanks to the most talented writers on the web at Pajiba for giving me more than a weekend's worth of, um, thinking material...... nathanfillion2008.jpg6. Nathan Fillion: I don’t quite know where to begin. Nathan Fillion seems like a guy who’d go for a beer, or get your back in a fight, so he’s definitely got the camaraderie thing going. But he’s also somehow more mature than the other actors often mentioned as being sexy (I’m looking sadly at you, McConaughey). In an era when male stars are preened to be hot, Fillion is full-on handsome, a masculine throwback to an older era. Plus he’s so damn affable I don’t know what to do. He’s a talented dramatic actor — dude freaking gouges someone’s eye out in a guest arc on the final season of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” — but it’s his comedy chops that really sell him, whether it’s the splatter humor of Slither or the quirky charms of Waitress. He’s a man’s man, you know? Classy, casual, and totally put together. — Dan Carlson

cliveowen2008.jpg5. Clive Owen: Hey there, Super Tiger Sex Commando. You’re looking fit with your creased, shadowy face, your lean, rangy form, your laconic, melancholy voice with its silky-gruff single malt finish. You paid your television actor dues for years before firmly entering the soft, sensual ground of our cinematic consciousness, lithely slipping out of the dark water and under the covers like some brusquely gentle British love ninja who finally bested James Bond. Caked in grime, a little smoke-blackened from saving mankind or pulling a huge bank heist, you’ve gone toe to toe with Denzel Washington, Michael Caine and Paul Giamatti, burned your image into our memories, and become the most enduring dark knight of our gritty fever dreams. The hard-to-earn but big-payoff smile is just a bonus we get once per picture. Now that you’ve earned the top spot on the “If I Had To …” list, bring me a glass of whisky, turn up The Trinity Sessions, and help me out of these wet clothes. Ted Boynton

robertdowney2008.jpg3. Robert Downey, Jr.: Let’s not kid ourselves people. Robert Downey, Jr. isn’t just on this list because, at least until three months ago, he was the most unappreciated actor of his generation. It’s not just because he can do drama, comedy, superhero or the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude without breaking a sweat. Nor is it because Robert Downey, Jr. managed to bring a C-level superhero to A-level status. Let’s be honest with ourselves — the reason he’s here is because you want him to say dirty, nasty, pleasant things to you before tearing off your clothes with his teeth and fucking you on a stairwell in a dark alley in the middle of the day. You want him to pull out his arsenal of kink and then mingle his nicotine scent with your glistening sweat as he has his naughty naughty way with you on a kitchen table. And you want it over. and over. and over again. Until he breaks you. Until you can’t feel your legs. Until you’ve lost your voice from all the moaning. And then you want it again.

Plus, he’s been nominated for an Oscar! — Dustin Rowles

christianbale2008.jpg1. Christian Bale: MMMmmmMMMM mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMM mmmmmmmmm, Bale.

(Wait, what? I have to write a whole paragraph?)

Fine. Here’s why Christian Bale is the shit. He’s the only object of my and many other ladies my age totally tame, early teen day dreams (Swing Kids! Newsies!) who’s grown up with us (Little Women, Velvet Goldmine) and still remains in our all kindsa dirty, adult fantasies (American Psycho, Bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb BAT MAN). He’s relatively non existent in the tabloid culture. He’s wicked talented. And he’s fucking hot. So, like I said…

MMMmmm MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm MMMMM mmmmmmmmm, Bale. Beckyloo Who

BIGFOOT BODY FOUND - EVIDENCE AND DNA DETAILS TO BE PRESENTED AT A PRESS CONFERENCE ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 15th

FROM 12 N00N TO 1:00PM AT THE CABANA HOTEL-PALO ALTO IN PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA

A body that may very well be the body of the creature commonly known as “Bigfoot” has been found in the woods in northern Georgia.

DNA evidence and photo evidence of the creature will be presented in a press conference on Friday, August 15th from 12 Noon to 1:00pm at the Cabana Hotel-Palo Alto at 4290 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, California, 94306. The press conference will not be open to the public. It will only be open to credentialed members of the press.

Georgia Gorilla, Skeptically Yours

Posted by: Loren Coleman on August 13th, 2008

Well, wow, that was a wild ride, wasn’t it? And it feels like the roller coaster is just in the bottom of the dip, ready to rocket upward a bit again.

Of course, we all will see this unfold or unravel some more on Fox TV News at 10:45 am/7:45 am this Wednesday morning, August 13, 2008. And then on Friday, if it gets that far. I will continue to update Cryptomundo with new postings or any visuals obtained. It is 8:13 am in the East, and Fox News has just made a teaser announcement about the Friday news conference and the forthcoming DNA results. No body photo was shared yet, and the tone of the hosts was not intellectually skeptical or even interested, but childishly cynical. Stay tuned.

If Searching for Bigfoot, Inc. does have the body fully in their possession, out of Georgia, then this should keep progressing, with all the skeptics and scientists getting to see the body. If they do not have a real body, but a constructed model, as some of the early photographic analysis indicates, that will be slowly revealed as soon as people begin using x-rays, CAT-Scan, and other autopsy instruments on the carcass or fake carcass.

If I was a member of the group of people who have invested something in the alleged range of 30 million dollars on this, or the investors/documentary company (mentioned in their press release) that put up supposedly something like $11 million for the autopsy film rights, I’d want to see that body today!

I am not in that internal circle, have no money on this dog, as they say, and I am certain my overt skepticism now will get me booted from getting the phone calls and being sent any further photographs. But, if this is the real deal, I shall be pleasantly surprised if Mr. Biscardi comes through with more proofs, and follows through on his promises for me to see the body.

If skeptics are going to be given the opportunity to examine the body, shoulder to shoulder with the members of the ownership group, then this story will continue with new proofs.

Unfortunately, for those more intelligent readers here, you must understand why I say many thing I did here. Obviously, we were all being watched here, and what you have witnessed happening at Cryptomundo in the last few days was necessary to get to this stage of the photograph being released. As a member of the media, Cryptomundo being a window for you to examine them has served a necessary purpose in being objective.

The photographs were allegedly mistakenly placed on their website early, along with the press release Mr. Barrows released to sixty plus wire services. That error caused the early release of the watermarked photos on several websites and forums. After attempts to contact some of the early re-posters and tell them they would be sued, I called Biscardi to inform him that it was his site that was leaking the photographs. No one was hacking them. The swift movement all came from their side. And the embargo had to come off last night at 10:00 PM Eastern because the photo was all over the internet.

That is the short story of how this burst so early, yesterday.

Cryptomundo crashed last night, several times, and there is still trouble with uploading other tidbits I wanted to put up this morning. I apologize because we got 3 million hits a minute.

I can now come out firmly in the extremely skeptical camp on this one, based merely on the “evidence” that has been shared so far. Several questions must be answered before myself and most of the scientific, skeptical, and Bigfoot communities will swallow this one.

For example, regarding the DNA analysis being done for Friday: What proof exists that the tissue sample was actually removed from the alleged Georgia body? I hate to bring up the OJ trial or CSI, but everyone in America understands the necessary realities of maintaining a secure record of the “chain of evidence.” The credibility of the gentlemen in Georgia and Mr. Biscardi will be called into question, and the ball is back in their camp on this question…and many other ones.

As I essentially said on Coast to Coast AM last night, there is no reason that exactly the opposite kind of people that everyone wished would find Bigfoot have tripped across one in the woods. That doesn’t bother me, and these two men will be celebrated if the body is real. I congratulated Tom Biscardi for moving this from the craziness of YouTube video assaults to the secret safe house and the millionaire investors. But there’s some notorious history here that will be hard for everyone to overlook until there is undeniable proof that some grand con game is not being played on all of us again.

I see nothing that tells me that there is a real body of Bigfoot coming out of this scenario, yet, but like I mentioned yesterday, only a fool would not look open-mindedly, if someone wants to show me the body. I skeptically occupy that same position.

Personally, I think they found Paris passed out in the woods.......

I want to conduct a little test. I have been doing this little blog of mine for a little while now, and I really don't think anyone out there in blog-onia is reading the damn thing. I mean, I've only had, like, one comment, and I KNOW who that was from!!!

So, here's your test, peoples......

If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

Mine would be: Contents of package are much larger than outside of package would appear. If shaken or upset, contents will have a tendency to explode.

GREEN BEER FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!

Get jiggy with it!

by Elizabeth Gist ( my bud)

Irish traditions and music have long had a place in Rush County’s community, and August 1’s concert at Riverside Park Amphitheater is just another opportunity for everyone, Irish or not, to celebrate. Mother Grove and the McCabes will headline the Rushville St. Patrick’s Day Committee-sponsored concert, which begins at 7 p.m. WISH-TV news anchor Rick Dawson will emcee the event.

Mother GroveMother Grove and their “kilt rock” sound will open the evening. The group has performed all over the country and has been chosen to perform with Celtic rock powerhouses (Seven Nations, Black 47, Young Dubliners) and mainstream groups (Violent Femmes, Blue Oyster Cult, Berlin). Their unstoppable grooves and multi-layered rhythms dare you to stand still. Their professionalism is indicative of their many years as musicians, and they interact with the crowd at such a level that by evening’s end, you feel like a part of the band.

The McCabes will headline this very Irish event. The group was born in New York, but have played all over the U.S., earning their spot as one of America’s best-loved Irish bands.

The McCabesA host of musicians have passed through the group, including fiddler Matt Mancuso (Lord of the Dance), mandolin player Darryl Conlon (Crossroads), drummers Steve Holloway (Riverdance), Lez Warren (The Cult) and Mike Pardy (The Full Monty). Now with Sean McCabe on vocals, Ryan Cavan (drums), Daniel Paccine (bass), Rick Snell (guitar), and Matt Mancuso back on fiddle, they never rest on their laurels and play at Connolly’s Club on Times Square in NYC, New York’s biggest and newest Irish music revue.

Ahh, man, why did I have to come back? First time just the kids and I went on vacation alone. Amanda, Steven and Steven's near-twin Wade and I drove up to the Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan (unbelievably beautiful for Indiana) and rode the South Shore Line train over into Chicago. Fan-freakin-tastic. Would have only been better if we could have done it when they were shooting "The Dark Knight" or just a couple of months ago when Michael Mann's "Public Enemy" with Johnny Depp was shooting up that way.

Anyway, gorgeous weather (aside from the storm the first morning), nice folks (aside from the girls we sic'ed the gulls on), awesome things to see......altogether a great trip. I will be writing more about it, but here is a trio of pix for you.......

Amanda paid very close attention when we went to see "The Dark Knight. " When Batman (Christian Bale--really, it WAS him, not a stunt guy) was standing on top of the Sears Tower, he was standing above this corner of the observation level. So, we wanted to get a picture of what
approximated his view of Chicago. That, and the fact that "OMG!!! CHRISTIAN BALE WAS IN HERE!!!!"

We had never been to the Indiana Dunes.
If you are from Indiana, or know much
about Indiana, you will know it is one of
the most boring places you can be. That
being said, we were more than pleasantly
surprised by the Dunes National Lakeshore
on the southern shore of Lake Michigan.
The water was cool, but fairly clean, the
beach was warm and clean, and it sure
didn't seem like Indiana.

One of my fave pix......taken from Navy Pier following a fantabulous fireworks display.

Damn. I am sad. I have long been a fan of George Carlin. We were just talking about him and his influence at our play last weekend. Think about his influence on comedy, and our culture today. He was one of the giants, along with Lenny Bruce, Hunter S. Thompson, yes, even to a lesser extent Steve Martin. Today, who could measure up? In 10 or 20 years, what comedians from our time would people be quoting over and over again? Maybe Eddie Murphy in his younger "Raw" phase, or Chris Rock. That's it. The geniuses are leaving us, and I feel a huge hole today left by the passing of George Carlin. A few of my favorite Carlin moments to share........

Couldn't have said it better......

Brilliant!

The only cheer worth doing!

Thanks, George.......

This week, our county lost a local landmark....and a lot more. The tiny town of Moscow, in the southwest corner of our county, was nearly decimated by a tornado. We had terrible storms Tuesday night, June 3, and were even evacuated out of the County Courthouse, where we were rehearsing for our play. When I got home, one of my friends, who is a volunteer firefighter and EMT called and told me that he was on his way to this town, and that it's historic 1888 double-span covered bridge was gone. This was a beautiful old bridge, lovingly restored over recent years, and celebrated each year by a Covered Bridge Festival. This festival was a large source of income for this little town, and now the future of this festival, the bridge, and the town, are in question. For the first day or so, the town was cut off by downed trees covering every road in and out of town, not to mention the bridge crossing the Flatrock River being gone. Now they are busing in volunteers to help with clearing debris. The Lt. Governor and our Congressman have toured the area, and it has been declared a disaster area. A good friend of mine, along with her daughter, watched her home being blown away above her as they searched for cover in the basement of their farmhouse. They lost all their belongings, their horses, all but one of their goats, and all other animals except their cat. They are battered and bruised, but alive. They are not alone. Several other families have lost everything. One woman was badly injured, but thankfully, no one was killed. When looking at the devastation, it is amazing that no one was.

Donations are being accepted to help those who have lost so much to rebuild, to recover something of their lives. You may donate to the Moscow Victims Assistance Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank in the United States. Please give if you can.

I posted this on Chez's Deus Ex Malcontent blog, and he apparently enjoyed my venom.....here on my thoughts on this weekend's premiere of what I like to call, "Sex is so shitty....."

A friend emailed a bunch of us at the beginning of the week, saying what a big fan she was of this idiotic slut-fest and how she had been DYING waiting for this movie to come out and did a group of us want to get together and go see it? My reply? I would rather eat my son's shoes. If you have ever been around the shoes of a 13 year old boy, you know how serious that is. And, I am SOOOOO sick and tired of the media talking about all the "women" who just can't wait for this and who will be lining up around the block (Yeah, thanks Meredith Viera) to see this stanky turd dressed in horrid designer rags. Umm, I don't know what brain-dead Romero-type zombie bitches you are talking about, media-heads, but my REAL friends and I will be staying away in droves. I think if I do see a movie this weekend, it will be "Ironman," again. I much prefer action and explosions to horsefaced horny twats. Kill me and re-animate me when they are gone for good.....and can they take Victoria Beckham with them? She looks like she belongs.

Ok, so I haven't posted for a while. But, I have a REALLY good excuse. We pulled it off! Last Saturday, the Riverside Park Amphitheatre Committee put on one whale of a shindig down at the Amphitheatre. We had a hog roast, bluegrass band, DJ, games, silent auction, the Colts in Motion van......the weather was pretty good (AWFULLY windy, but otherwise, not bad) and we had a great crowd. We did a cake walk.....and we ran out of baked goods!! The people playing were having so much fun, they kept playing even though all we had to give them was potato salad and slaw!!! They didn't care!!

I really sweated this out. I am new on the Amphitheatre committee, and they made me special events coordinator. Of course, this was a special event. It was also the first event of the year, and the first time we had ever done one of these "community picnics" so I was completely stressed out about it. I couldn't sleep......my haircolor is shot......I couldn't eat.......I did a lot of non-work related stuff at work (like thats any different!!) and the night before, I was up until 1 am making out bid folders for the auction items. But, when all is said and done, we will have made about $3000 for our restroom fund. Not too shabby. I feel pretty good about it now.

I am really happy to have been asked to be on this committee, and some of the others I am now serving on. I want to make a difference in my little town. It has been on a downhill slide for a long time, and if I can help make it a better place, I want to.

Take a look at out Amphitheatre schedule. http://www.rushvilleamphitheater.com/ Come down and see a show. They are all free. We have a great time. Look around our little town, and let me know what we can do better. I want to make it better, I really do. Maybe some fresh eyes will help me see where to start. But, first, I am going to have several drinks and a l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-n-g nap!!!

Just wanted to say, Happy Mother's Day to all you real Mother's out there, like me!!!! Hope its a good one!

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Yes, it's Tuesday. Yes, I VOTED! Yes, I encourage you to GET OUT AND VOTE!!! But, we've talked about that, haven't we? I think you have heard enough about that, kids, now, haven't you? I mean, really? Seriously, if you don't know that this election is about the difference between the same old Washington politics as usual and A NEW BEGINNING (yes, Obi-Wan), well, I don't know what to tell you.

Enough of that....I have something else to talk to you about today. Something called.....IRON MAN.

We went to see this on Sunday. I have never been a big comic book reader, but I do love me some action movies. No girly-girly chick flicks for me. No frilly romance crapola, no Sex in the City or 257 Dresses or Calgon Take me Away or what have you....give me a muscle man and stuff that blows up and guns and chicks and fire trucks and hookers and booze and all the things that make life worth living for!!!!!! Oh, wait, that was "Bachelor Party." Oh, yeah, I love that movie, too. Anyway, I love action movies. I love Robert Downey Jr. and I am happy as hell to see him in a good role. I have been seeing the trailers for this FOREVER and waiting........and waiting......and waiting........

So, Sunday, we go. You can't say too much bad about a superhero movie that
a) starts with a trailer for "The Dark Knight" which looks amazing...sad, but amazing. Next trailer? A surprisingly good-looking "Hulk." Edward Norton? Liv Tyler? TIM ROTH???? ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME??????? I am in just on the basis of Tim Roth! And, finally......"Indiana Jones and the....whatever...." who cares what the frickin' title is. He still looks great, sounds wise-ass, Cate Blanchett is phenomenal and they had me at the hat on the ground. I'm in; and
b) starts the movie with Humvees driving thru the desert to AC/DC's "Back in Black" (the theme to my senior year in high school---'82 rules!!!) while our hero drinks a scotch in the back of said Hummer. SOLD!

It just gets better from there. Even the usual nausea-inducing Gwyneth Paltrow didn't look pale and emaciated and make me want to stick her head back in that box. Even Terrance Howard was ok. But RDJ? He was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! Seriously. Apparently, there was a lot of improv going on, and he kicked at it. It was his idea to have the reporters sit in one scene (very cool). His asides say alot about his character.

It's just a great, great movie. Not just a great SUMMER movie, but a well-written, well-acted, well-directed movie. Lots of fun. Oh, and stay till after the credits....I didn't, but found out later. I guess after the monster opening this had, they are already talking about Iron Man 2, to come out in 2010. RDJ is crazy to do lots more of these, and I hope he can. He totally owns this character...he can obviously use a lot of his own experience in Tony Stark's struggles. He's a very human hero, something we can relate to right now.

At any rate, see it. Enjoy it. Have some popcorn or a pretzel or some M & M's and just have a great time at a movie. Forget about gas prices and voting and layoffs and all that crap for 2 hours and enjoy yourself! We did!!!!

This is it, Indiana. This Tuesday is it. For the first time in my lifetime, we get to help choose a Presidential candidate. You all know where I stand. In spite of all the crap that has been shoveled the last few weeks, in spite of the visit from venerable former First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton, to our dear ol' Rushtucky a week ago (for a whoppin' 15 minutes or so), my stand has not changed. I am an ardent feminist. I desperately want a woman President. I feel a woman would do an infinitely better job than most of the men who have held the office.....but not Hillary. She scares the living bejeezus out of me. I don't trust her as far as I can throw her. She has talked out of both sides of her face for years....both while Bill was in office, and ever since. She does not support NAFTA......yet she and Bill shoved it through. So on and so on.......

Mostly, I just want to say.....Hoosiers, for once, we matter....get out and vote. Take a stand. Make a choice. We are usually just a "fly-over" state that doesn't matter to anyone out there in the rest of the country. But, now, the eyes of the country, and the world, are on us. USE YOUR POWER!!!! MAKE A STAND!!! We CAN make a difference. You know where I stand. I know some of you will disagree with me, and I respect that, but at least exercise your right. VOTE MAY 6!!!!!

To make democracy work, we must be a nation of participants, not simply observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain. -- Louis L’Amour

I do tend to go off on rants quite often. I am a very liberal woman, with very liberal ideas. But, I do have to draw the line somewhere. One place I draw it is a lot of modern pop culture---the "High School Musical," Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brother shilling suits out there who are selling everything from pencils to clothes to our kids with this crap on them. And kids think they HAVE to have them!! OH MY GOD!!! I HAVE to see Miley Cyrus!!! Tickets are only $125!!!! Come on, Mom, Dad. I HAVE to go. EVERYBODY is going!

Well, my kids aren't going. My kids, thank whatever good sense all of us have together, have not fallen prey to all this hype. They have never had to have the latest fashions or the hottest new electronics or go to these ridiculous concerts. They have better sense, and taste than that. Just look at this picture....look at the lengths some morons will go to so that precious Pookie poo gets whatever she wants....well guess what Daddums.....the rest of the world will not be so kind. Some day Pookie will have to get a job and fend for herself. What will you have taught her? That the world will roll over and give her everything she wants. Welcome to the welfare state, Pookie.

Well, for all my pissing and moaning, I could never say all I want to quite as eloquently as Chez, so I will direct you here.....enjoy the venom and the truth.... http://www.deusexmalcontent.com/2008/04/kids-incorporated.html
